Preparation Steps
  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, honey, five-spice powder, minced garlic, and ginger until well combined.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are thoroughly coated. Massage the marinade into the chicken.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours.
  4. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
  5. Arrange the marinated chicken thighs on the lined baking sheet, spaced evenly.
  6. Roast the chicken for 45-55 minutes, basting every 15 minutes with reserved marinade.
  7. Once cooked, let the chicken rest for 5 minutes, then slice and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
