For the Toppings
  • 4 slices bacon Turkey bacon can be used for a lighter option.
  • 1 head Romaine lettuce, chopped Substitutable with mixed greens or spinach.
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided Can replace with Pecorino Romano for a sharper taste.
For the Garlic Bread
  • 1 loaf French bread Italian bread or whole-wheat options work well too.
  • ¼ cup salted butter, softened Unsalted butter can be used with added salt to taste.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Garlic powder can be a quick alternative.
  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese Substitute with Provolone or a dairy-free cheese if needed.
For a Zesty Finish
  • ½ of a lemon juice (optional) Omit if preferred or add zest for more citrus flavor.

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking Dish
  • Skillet
  • mixing bowl
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and coat a baking dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Place the chicken breasts into the baking dish, drizzle with Caesar dressing, and sprinkle with black pepper. Bake for 25 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Allow to rest before dicing.
  3. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 6-8 minutes. Transfer to a cutting board and chop into bite-sized pieces.
  4. In a large bowl, combine chopped Romaine, remaining Caesar dressing, diced chicken, chopped bacon, and half the Parmesan. Toss until evenly coated.
  5. Preheat the oven to broil. Cut the French bread in half lengthwise and place cut sides up on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic to create garlic butter. Spread this evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  7. Sprinkle shredded Mozzarella over the garlic buttered bread and broil for about 1 minute until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Top each garlic bread half with the Chicken Caesar mixture, evenly distributing it. Finish with the remaining Parmesan and serve with lemon juice for extra zest.
