Crumble Topping
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour can be substituted with gluten-free flour
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar can be swapped with granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt balances the flavors
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon can substitute with nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter can use vegan butter for dairy-free
Apple Filling
  • 6 cups Granny Smith Apples or Honeycrisp for a sweeter taste
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar can use brown sugar for deeper flavor
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice preferably fresh
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch can use all-purpose flour as an alternative

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare your baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the crumble topping ingredients until a coarse crumb forms.
  3. Combine prepared Granny Smith apples with the apple filling ingredients and toss gently.
  4. Spread the apple mixture in the bottom of the baking dish and sprinkle crumble topping evenly.
  5. Bake for 35-45 minutes until the topping is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
  6. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving warm.
