- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray an 8 or 9-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of packed brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt and ground cinnamon. Stir in ½ cup of melted unsalted butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine about 6-7 cups of Granny Smith apples with ½ cup of granulated sugar or brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and additional cinnamon. Mix gently until well coated.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the crumbly topping generously over the apples.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and bubbles form around the edges.
- Let the crumble cool for about 15 minutes before serving.
