Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray an 8 or 9-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of packed brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt and ground cinnamon. Stir in ½ cup of melted unsalted butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, combine about 6-7 cups of Granny Smith apples with ½ cup of granulated sugar or brown sugar, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and additional cinnamon. Mix gently until well coated.
  4. Spread the apple mixture evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the crumbly topping generously over the apples.
  5. Bake for 35-45 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and bubbles form around the edges.
  6. Let the crumble cool for about 15 minutes before serving.
