Method
 

Steps
  1. Microwave 1 cup of peanut butter for 30 seconds, stir until pourable, spread in an 8-inch pan, freeze for 1 hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (176°C) and line the same pan with parchment paper.
  3. Combine 1/2 cup butter and 8 oz chocolate in a bowl, microwave until melted, whisk in 1 cup sugar, then add 2 eggs and 1 tsp vanilla; mix until smooth.
  4. Sift together 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 cup cocoa, and a pinch of salt into batter, gently fold until just combined.
  5. Spread half of the brownie batter in the pan, layer the frozen peanut butter, then add the remaining batter on top.
  6. Bake for about 30 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly gooey.
  7. Cool in pan for 30 minutes, transfer to wire rack for another 30 minutes, then slice and serve.
