- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) or your air fryer. Spray a 9×9 casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- If using fresh green beans, wash them and cut off the stem ends. Blanch them in boiling water for 2 minutes, then transfer to an ice bath.

- Fold in prepared green beans and 2/3 of the crispy fried onions. Add black pepper to taste.

- For the oven, bake at 350°F for 25 minutes, stir, sprinkle remaining onions, and bake for another 5 minutes.
