Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) or your air fryer. Spray a 9×9 casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. If using fresh green beans, wash them and cut off the stem ends. Blanch them in boiling water for 2 minutes, then transfer to an ice bath.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the condensed cream of mushroom soup with milk and a splash of soy sauce until smooth.
  4. Fold in prepared green beans and 2/3 of the crispy fried onions. Add black pepper to taste.
  5. Spread the green bean mixture evenly into the prepared casserole dish.
  6. For the air fryer method, cook at 350°F for 10 minutes, stir, sprinkle remaining onions, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. For the oven, bake at 350°F for 25 minutes, stir, sprinkle remaining onions, and bake for another 5 minutes.
