Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather ingredients and supplies.
  2. Grease the baking dish with butter or spray, and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  3. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes. Mix in flour and salt until just combined.
  4. Press half of the dough evenly into the bottom of the baking dish.
  5. Spread cherry pie filling evenly over the pressed dough, leaving a small border.
  6. Crumble the remaining dough over the cherry filling evenly.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes until golden brown on top. Allow to cool.
  8. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve.
