  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract For more intensity, try using vanilla bean paste.
  • 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar Essential for texture; don’t omit.
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips Optional; can use vegan chocolate chips or omit altogether.
  • 1/2 cup Nuts Use any preferred nuts or seeds, or omit for nut-free version.
  • 1 teaspoon Espresso Powder Optional; can omit if not available.

Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour and cocoa powder, then stir in the baking powder and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the water, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and apple cider vinegar until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and gently fold them together until no dry flour remains.
  5. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the surface.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment and cooling completely on a wire rack.
