Method
 

Cake Preparation Steps
  1. Toast the pecans in a small saucepan with melted butter over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, then cool.
  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat for 5-6 minutes until rich and fragrant.
  3. Beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer, then add eggs and powdered sugar until smooth.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare the springform pan.
  5. Mix the brown butter with granulated sugar, then add eggs, vanilla, and bourbon.
  6. Combine dry ingredients and buttermilk, then mix into the batter.
  7. Assemble the cake and dollop the cream cheese mixture on top.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the center is slightly jiggly and edges are golden.
  9. Cool the cake in the pan for 45 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  10. Prepare caramel sauce by melting sugar, then adding butter and cream until smooth.
