  • 1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning dried oregano or basil can substitute
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika smoked paprika for added flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Salt adjust to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon Pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 cup Beef Broth or Water can use vegetable broth
  • 0.5 cup Milk optional; use almond milk for dairy-free
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh Parsley optional, as a garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, then add ground beef. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté for 3-4 minutes until onion is soft and translucent.
  4. Transfer the beef mixture to the greased baking dish, spreading evenly across the bottom.
  5. Distribute thinly sliced potatoes on top and season with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  6. Sprinkle cheddar and Parmesan cheese over the potatoes.
  7. Pour broth or water around the edges of the dish. Optionally drizzle milk over the top.
  8. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is bubbly and top is golden-brown.
  10. Let it rest for a few minutes and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
