  • 4 cups Hash Browns shredded or diced
  • 1 pound Pork Sausage or turkey sausage or diced ham
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese shredded
  • 6 Eggs or 12 egg whites for a lighter version
  • 1 cup Milk optional low-fat milk or heavy cream
  • 1 small Onion diced, optional
For Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder or fresh garlic
  • to taste Salt & Pepper to enhance flavors

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. Spread thawed hash browns evenly across the bottom of the pan.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook pork sausage and diced onion until browned and onion is translucent, about 10 minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the hash browns, then sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Add the cooked sausage and onion mixture, then sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour, then uncover and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
