Ingredients
  

Salad Base
  • 1 head Iceberg or Romaine Lettuce Substitute with mixed greens for a different texture.
  • 1 small Red Onion Soak in water to mellow its intensity if desired.
  • 1 cup Cherry Tomatoes Halved grape tomatoes can be used instead.
  • 1/2 cup Pepperoncini Banana peppers are a less spicy alternative.
Protein
  • 8 oz Deli Ham Turkey or chicken can serve as leaner replacements.
  • 4 oz Salami Swap in prosciutto for a unique taste.
Cheesy Goodness
  • 6 oz Provolone Cheese Mozzarella is a nice substitute.
  • 1/2 cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese Grated pecorino works well too.
Dressing
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise Greek yogurt is a healthier option.
  • 2 tbsp Red Wine Vinegar Substitute with apple cider vinegar for a gentler flavor.
  • 1 tbsp Italian Seasoning Dried oregano and basil can be used in place.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until smooth. Let this creamy dressing chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
  2. While the dressing is chilling, chop the lettuce, red onion, cherry tomatoes, and pepperoncini.
  3. Layer chopped lettuce in a large bowl, followed by diced cherry tomatoes, sliced pepperoncini, diced deli ham, and salami. Top with provolone and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Drizzle the chilled dressing over the salad and gently toss until well coated.
  5. Serve immediately to enjoy the salad at its freshest.
