  2. Cut the day-old croissants into 1-inch pieces and layer them evenly in the greased baking dish. Sprinkle semi-sweet chocolate chips over the top.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together whole milk, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  4. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the croissant pieces, gently pressing down with a spatula to soak.
  5. Allow the assembled dish to sit for 10-15 minutes to let the croissants absorb the custard.
