Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, combine 1 packet of active dry yeast, 1 cup of warm water, and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Stir gently and let the mixture sit for 5 to 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning.
  3. Once the yeast mixture is frothy, pour it into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix until it forms a shaggy dough.
  4. Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and allow to rise for about 1 hour.
  5. Prepare the cheese topping by combining 1 cup of mozzarella, ½ cup of parmesan, ¼ cup of parsley, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder.
  6. After the dough has risen, punch it down gently and divide into two equal portions. Shape each into a loaf.
  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Once the loaves have risen, brush with olive oil and sprinkle the cheese topping evenly.
  9. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown and hollow when tapped.
  10. Allow the loaves to cool on a wire rack for about 10 minutes before slicing.
