Baking Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans with butter, then dust with flour.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the wet ingredients: eggs, whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry mix and beat using a hand mixer until smooth.
- Carefully stir in the boiling water into the batter until well combined.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. Check with a toothpick for doneness.
- Once baked, cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then invert onto wire racks to cool completely.
- Beat together peanut butter and powdered sugar until creamy. Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form and fold into the peanut butter mixture.
- Place one cooled cake layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of peanut butter frosting on top; stack the second layer and frost the top and sides.
- Garnish the cake with chocolate shavings and chopped peanuts before serving.

Notes
Ensure eggs and milk are at room temperature for the best batter consistency. Check the freshness of your leavening agents to avoid a dense cake.
