- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or lamb, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, chopped herbs, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until incorporated and let rest for about 10 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Shape the meat mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a lined baking sheet. Bake for 18 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Prepare the tzatziki sauce by grating the cucumber and squeezing out excess moisture. Mix the drained cucumber with Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Take a warm mini pita round, place a meatball on top, drizzle with tzatziki, and add a sprinkle of fresh herbs if desired.
- Serve immediately, ideally with olives or a light Greek salad.
