Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a large pot over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter until bubbling gently. Add 4 cloves of finely minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, stirring constantly to avoid browning.
- Pour in 4 cups of vegetable or chicken broth and bring the mixture to a simmer. Add 12 ounces of uncooked penne pasta and cook uncovered for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Lower the heat to medium-low and gently stir in 1 cup of heavy cream. Allow the mixture to simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in 1 cup of freshly grated Parmesan cheese, mixing until it's fully melted. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Remove the pot from heat. Spoon the pasta into bowls and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half and half for a creamy texture.
