Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, onion, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully incorporated.
- Transfer meat mixture to a greased baking dish, pressing down evenly, and bake for about 20 minutes.
- Cook macaroni according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
- In a saucepan, melt butter, stir in flour, then whisk in milk until sauce thickens; add seasonings and cheese until melted.
- Mix cooked macaroni with cheese sauce, then pour over baked meatloaf.
- Sprinkle remaining cheese on top and return to oven. Bake for an additional 25 minutes.
