- Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels. Combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and optional Cajun seasoning in a large bowl. Coat the drumsticks evenly with this seasoning.
- Place the seasoned drumsticks upright in the slow cooker. Pour 1½ cups of BBQ sauce and honey over the chicken to coat.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 5 to 6 hours or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Transfer drumsticks to a baking sheet lined with foil. Brush with remaining BBQ sauce and broil for 3 to 4 minutes until caramelized.
