Step-by-Step Instructions for Sweet Air Fryer Churro Bites Recipe
  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Stir occasionally until the mixture comes to a boil, about 5 minutes.
  2. Once boiling, reduce heat to low and add 1 cup of plain flour, stirring vigorously until a smooth dough forms, approximately 2-3 minutes.
  3. After the dough has cooled slightly, add 1 large egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix until fully incorporated and smooth.
  4. Prepare a piping bag fitted with a large star tip and fill it with the churro dough. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Pipe small 2-3 inch churro shapes on parchment paper.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with nonstick spray. Transfer the piped churros into the basket and air fry for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Once the churro bites are golden, remove them and brush with melted butter to help the cinnamon-sugar coating stick.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of sugar with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Toss the warm churro bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
