  1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water in a fine-mesh strainer until the water runs clear.

  3. Pour in water and sprinkle salt over the rice, bringing it to a rolling boil.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 15-18 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat, let it steam for an additional 5 minutes, then stir in lemon zest and juice.
  6. Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
